National's track record on state housing is clear for everryone to see. Ironically, even former PM, John Key - raised in a state house - couldn't see the true value (social, not financial) of public housing for low income families and individuals.
I guess that's how deeply Nat's disdain for state housing is ingrained in their 'DNA', when it over-rides personal experience.
I saw it happen.John Key campaigned on no asset sales. The devout family man BiilE laughed and said we have to balance the books Johnno. Key checked out
Yes, ditto, Winston. I heard the promises of no more asset sales... and then the sale/disposition of state houses began in earnest. It was a blatant broken promise. No wonder the Nats were chucked out in 2017.
And just in time, as a global viral pandemic loomed on the horizon...
Then the same BillE submitted a phoney review for Bishop that said sell more houses. Bishop also being a phoney agreed with the review because he and BillE had written it before the event. This is without question the most corrupt Govt in my lifetime.
I've read that report, Mac. It was bullsh*t from beginning to end, with a predetermined outcome clear from page 1. Its bias was clear when it became known that Kāinga Ora was never approached or consulted for their input!
One of the main authors? Bill English. The same Bill English who oversaw the sale of approximately 6,000 state houses during his tenure as Finance Minister.
It boggles my mind that the media ever took the "report" seriously. There was very little questioning of it's impartiality. (Except Newsroom? Spinoff?)
Well said Frank! Every point is a winning point in your argument!
Thanks, Judith.

Yes Frank it amazes me how much the MSM just looks the other way with so much this COC does and says.
