Impressive, Frank. I too, wrote a submission, but it is quite simple. My hope is that, no matter how many are actually read, at least they will all be counted as vehemently against the bill.
Well done, the quality of your submission must be appreciated by the selection committee - if they read it! My own submission pales in comparison but maybe an army of drips can wear away the ACT stone, there is still time for others to voice their opposition
Thanks, Keith. I doubt if Nat/Act will read it or pay much attention. Their agenda is set in stone on this issue.
My hope is:
(a) NZFirst may have second doubts whether to support what is patently a neo-liberal construct. If it appears they might lose votes on this issue, Winston may pull the plug on his party's support. One can but hope.
(b) that the Greens and Te Pāti Māori prompt and encourage Labour to scrap this odious law the moment their backsides hit the government benches. That is where our best chances are.
I wonder how they'd cope if, say, 250,000 people sent in submissions with just one, simple word: "No!" Maybe I'll try that next time?
It will be interesting how Labour deals with this Bill, if it becomes law. Will they repeal it? Or let it stand? Unless 'Chippie' (who is a really nice guy) takes a firm stand against it, he might find an exodus of electorate support to the Greens or TMP...
It'd be a dramatic turn of events if, should this become law, he calls a sudden press conference and announces his Party's first policy statement for next year's election: Labour will scrap this Bill/Act in their First 100 Days of Action!
Thank you. Your submission is clearly written by some person who has fully read and understood the proposed bill. I have nade a very simple submission. If that odious submitter of the bill thinks my submission was written by a bot, then we are doomed if it is thd best a bot can do!

Thanks, Lesley.
As they say, every bit helps! The more voices are raised in opposition, the more that NZ First may start to have qualms supporting this Bill.
And of course, if it annoys Seymour, well, WIN/WIN!

Well done Frank! Your examples are extremely pertinent! My own submission I think now was far too brief!!
Thanks, Judith!

I’d love to see that! But….

I think "simple" submissions also carry weight and not just "policy wonks" like me, Marilyn. Yours is from the general public and that speaks volumes.
Fingers crossed!
